Sunday evening Squad and QRS 62 were dispatched to a reported vehicle accident with injuries in the west end of Lower Gwynedd. Chief 62 arrived on location and held the response to Squad 62 for clean up after the accident.
Shortly after returning to the station, members moved to Air 62, which was dispatched to Towamencin Township for a RIT assignment during a fire in 76's local. Members from 76 extinguished the fire and Air 62 was released.
RIT team assignments (also known as FAST team) are crews assigned to stand by during fires, suited up in full personal protective equipment, ready to enter the building. The RIT teams stand by to assist firefighters if they become injured, trapped or low on air during fire suppression, rescue or any firefighting operations.
