LOWER GWYNEDD FIRE ALARM

Wednesday, July 2, 2014   LOWER GWYNEDD TOWNSHIP - Around 5:00 PM North Penn Vol. Fire Company was dispatched for an automatic alarm.   Chief 62 arrived on scene with nothing showing.  After further investigation, it was discovered that there was a smoke condition inside the house.  Engine 62-1 and Tower 33 made forcible entry into the home and found a stove on with food.  North Penn and Center Square ventilated the house. Crews became available around 5:45. 

   


 

DUMP TRUCK PULLS DOWN WIRES IN MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP

Monday, June 30, 2014   MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP - Around 10:10 AM North Penn was dispatched to assist Fire Department of Montgomery Township for a vehicle rescue assignment.  A dump truck was reported to pull down numerous utility poles.  Crews arrived on scene and found numerous live wires down.  One person was reported trapped in the dump truck.   

   


 

Tex mex 5k

Wednesday, June 25, 2014  NORTH WALES BORO - Members from North Penn helped with the annual Tex Mex 5k. The is one of the largest events in North Wales and draws 1,500 runners from around the area. Fire police blocked road ways while fire and ems helped with any emergencies.

   


 

Firefighter Jess Smith Graduates from North Penn Senior High School

Wednesday, June 18, 2014   NORTH PENN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL - Tonight along with 1,000 of her classmates, firefighter Jess Smith will be graduating from high school.  Jess has been a member with us for over two years and has also recently graduated from the Montgomery County Fire Academy.   Good luck Jess from all us at North Penn. 

   


 

ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES SHUTS DOWN 202

Saturday, June 14, 2014   LOWER GWYNEDD TOWNSHIP - North Penn was dispatched around 8:00 PM for a vehicle accident with injuries on route 202 at Swedesford Road.  Crews had one victim trapped.  Rescue was complete within a couple of minutes.  Route 202 was shut down in both directions for about 1 hour. 

   


 

Large Gas Leak in Montgomery Township

Wednesday, June 4, 2014  MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP - Around 10:15 PM Squad and Ladder 62 along with area companies were dispatched for a report of a pipe line smoking from the ground.   Crews arrived on scene and discovered a gas leak with high levels of CO inside adjacent buildings.  Crews were  ordered  to evacuate all buildings.  North Penn remained on scene for over four hours. 

   


 

Fire Police Respond to Montgomery Township During Shooting Investigation

Monday, June 2, 2014   MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP -- Around 10 am officers from the area were called for a report of a shooting off Bell Run Boulevard.  Fire Police from North Penn Vol. Fire Company assisted the police with traffic control during the incident.  Fire Police remained on scene for over two hours.

House Fire in Upper Gwynedd

Tuesday, May 27, 2014   UPPER GWYNEDD TOWNSHIP - Around 4:40 PM Upper Gwynedd Township was alerted for a report of a house fire.  Station 80, Engine 62-1 and Engine 14 were on the initial response. Assistant Chief 18 arrived on scene and had smoke showing from the rear.  Squad 80 stretched a hose line and made a quick knock on the fire.  Crews remained on scene for about an hour.

Monday, May 26, 2014   LANSDALE BORO - Members from North Penn and the surrounding communities participated in Lansdale's Annual Memorial Day Parade.  The parade ends with a memorial service held at Lansdale's Memorial Park.  







   


 

Monday Night Drill: Ventilation Practice

Monday, May 19, 2014  NORTH WALES BORO - During our weekly Monday night drill, North Penn practiced vertical ventilation using a roof prop.  The drill simulated a ladder crew being a on roof and allowed fire fighters to practice cutting the necessary holes in a roof.  Thank you to Bucks County Fire Academy and Upper Gwynedd Fire Department for lending there prop.
