<![CDATA[Earlier tonight, members of the North Penn Vol. Fire Co. spent their time at Montgomery County Fire Academy's burn building. The burn building is a specially designed training facility that firefighters use to practice their skills. North Penn's firefighters practiced their hose advancement, fire extinguishment, search, ventilation and radio communication skills. Fire companies travel to the fire academy for the burn building because of the privilege to have controlled live fire training. Tonight North Penn practiced fighting residential fires, and in a few weeks will be returning to practice commerical building fires....]]>

<![CDATA[It's 4:00 am on Friday, do you know where your firefighters are? A few of the North Penn firefighters and contributing members have woken up early today, as they do once a month, to make hoagies. At 4:00 am they get to work preparing pre orders for pick up by 6:00 am. Not on the pre order list and yet still want a North Penn hoagie? Don't worry, they do it all over again tomorrow, just not so early. If you would like a hoagie, or 2.... or dozen, come out to North Penn Volunteer Fire Company on Main Street, North Wales after 7:30 am. Saturday is a no pre order day, so walk ins are welcome. There are Italian hoagies, Tuna, and every month there is a special (could be turkey, ham or roast beef). Hoagies are $4.00. We look forward to seeing you Saturday morning....]]>

<![CDATA[If you are sitting at home in front of the TV on a Monday night, trying to think of something to do, we have done the thinking for you. Head down to North Penn Volunteer Fire Company on Main Street in North Wales around 7pm. The members of North Penn have drill every Monday night at 7. Come down to meet the members, find out what they do for the community, and if you are interested, find out how you can become a member.

If you came out this past Drill, you would have seen two trainings going on. You could have seen Lt. Mark Donohue teaching how to use low pressure air bags as well as ropes. Two very important groups of rescue equipment that we carry on Squad 62 and Ladder 62. At the same time you could have seen Capt. Matthew Traynor teaching how to use hydraulic rescue tools. Another group of rescue equipment that we carry on Squad 62 and Air 62.

So if you are trying to find something to do on a Monday night, head down to Station 62 to see more drills and find out how you can be a part of the membership if you are interested....]]>
